I wanted to make a clock that makes you pause _____for a minute_____ in this busy, fast-paced world… So, this clock doesn’t show the exact time instantly (unless you click on it! But please don’t!).

The clock explicitly displays each second to emphasise the gentle passage of time at the small scale that we usually ignore… Seconds passing like mini droplets… one by one… dripping slowly… and meaningfully… Therefore, a small circle is popping out of the main circle every second.

And if you pause, stay patient, and wait (for maximum of 60 seconds), then you’ll see that when second=minute the popping out second hand will behave a bit differently!
The position of the gradient’s centre shows the hour. The gradient fill itself gives a rough sense of minutes passed (same for every hour). I didn’t want to add a legend for the gradient patterns. As one checks the time and pauses, little by little, they get familiar with the gradient patterns. When it’s around 0-15min, the inner part of the gradient is more homogeneous. As time passes, from min=30 the outer part of the gradient becomes more homogeneous. Different colour palettes for the clock and also the background are based on the day light (6am-6pm), which I find more intuitive than am/pm categories...
